Notification Preferences
Control how and where you receive alerts and updates.
rabbit | iot can reach you in a few ways. This page explains the notification centre inside the app and how to turn on browser push notifications so alerts reach you even when the app is closed.
The in-app notification centre
A bell (or Notifications) item in the account area collects messages addressed to you — most importantly, alerts where you're a recipient.
- A badge shows how many are unread.
- Click a notification to read it; click through to the related device or event.
- Mark a single notification as read, or mark all as read to clear the list.
Browser push notifications
Push notifications pop up on your device — even when the rabbit | iot tab is closed — as long as your browser is running. They're the fastest way to hear about an alert.
To turn them on:
- Click your avatar, then Notifications.
- Click Enable push notifications.
- When your browser asks for permission, click Allow.
You can enable push on each browser/device you use (work laptop, home computer, phone) — turn it on separately in each.
If you previously clicked Block on the browser permission prompt, the button can't re-ask. You'll need to re-allow notifications for the site in your browser's site settings, then enable push again here.
How push connects to alerts
For an alert to reach you by push, two things must line up:
- You've enabled push here (and allowed it in your browser).
- The alert lists you as a Web Push recipient — see Notification Channels.
Push notifications are instant and free, with no monthly limits. They're a great default for the people who need to react quickly.
Other ways alerts reach you
Beyond push, alerts can also be delivered by email, WhatsApp, Telegram, or webhook. Those are configured per alert rather than per person — see Notification Channels.
