Zones
Group devices by physical area and see those areas on the map.
A zone is a named geographic area that groups devices by where they physically are — for example North Field, Warehouse A, or Rooftop. Zones make it easier to organise a large fleet and to read the map at a glance.
What a zone gives you
- A name you choose, shown next to each device that belongs to it.
- A boundary drawn on the map — an outlined area so you can see the region the zone covers.
- A simple way to mentally group devices: "all the sensors in the orchard" rather than a long flat list.
A device can belong to one zone at most, and it can also have its own precise location point inside that zone. A device may have a zone without a precise point, or a point without a zone — the two are independent.
Where zones appear
- On the Map, drawn as outlined areas underneath your device markers.
- On each device's detail panel and in the device list, shown as the device's zone.
Creating zones and assigning devices to them is done by your administrator. As an everyday user you'll see zones throughout the app but won't edit them yourself.
