Creating & Editing Alerts

This page walks you through creating an alert from start to finish. Creating and editing alerts requires the Owner or Administrator role.

Creating an alert

1. Click Alerts in the sidebar.
2. Click New alert.
3. Enter a clear name — something you'll recognise in a notification, like Freezer too warm.
4. Choose the device to watch.
5. Choose what triggers the alert — a measurement crossing a limit, or a device event. See Alert Conditions for the details:
   • For a measurement condition: pick the metric, a comparison (above, below, equal to, …), and the threshold value.
   • For an event condition: pick the event type to watch for (for example device offline).
6. Optionally set a cooldown (minutes) to avoid repeat notifications — see Managing Alerts.
7. Add one or more notification channels — where the alert should be delivered. See Notification Channels.
8. Click Create alert.

Your alert is now live and will be checked against incoming data.

Editing an alert

1. On the Alerts page, click the alert you want to change.
2. Click Edit.
3. Adjust any field — the condition, threshold, cooldown, or channels.
4. Click Save.

Deleting an alert

Open the alert and choose Delete. This removes the rule permanently. The events it already produced stay in the timeline as a historical record.
