Personalising Widgets
Tweak how a widget looks for you, without changing it for everyone else.
Dashboards are shared with your whole organisation, but sometimes you want a widget to look a certain way just for you — a different colour, a different default time range. That's what widget personalisation is for.
How it works
A personalisation is a small set of overrides layered on top of the shared widget. When you personalise a widget:
- Only you see your version. Everyone else keeps seeing the original shared widget.
- The widget's underlying device, metric, and data never change — you're only changing its appearance for yourself.
Personalising a widget
- On a dashboard, hover over the widget and open its settings.
- Look for the personalise (per-user) options.
- Adjust the settings — for example a Chart's colours or time period.
- Save. Your version takes effect right away on your screen.
Resetting to the shared version
Remove your personalisation to go back to exactly what everyone else sees.
If an administrator changes a widget's type (say, from Chart to Level), any personalisation that no longer makes sense is automatically cleared, and you'll see the shared widget again.
Use personalisation for personal preferences (colours, default zoom). Use the widget's main settings when you want everyone to see the change.
